SmarTuna

Industries / Traders

You're accountable for evidence you didn't create.

Product you may never physically handle, claims made by parties upstream, documentation that has to satisfy buyers, customs and banks — and a deal that moves faster than any of it. SmarTuna links every transaction to verified origin and the proof behind it, so what you sell is backed by evidence rather than by assurances passed along.

The trader's exposure

The trader's exposure

You buy on the strength of what a supplier tells you and sell on the strength of what you tell a buyer. In between sits documentation you didn’t produce, about product you didn’t catch, supporting claims you’ll still be held to.

When something is missing or doesn’t reconcile, it surfaces late — at a border, at an audit, or when a buyer’s compliance team asks a question your supplier is slow to answer.

What SmarTuna does for you

The deal and its proof in the same record

Puts the deal and the proof in one record.

Buyer and seller, terms and incoterms, the product order, every shipment against it, and the proof points required for that transaction — with what’s complete and what’s outstanding visible in the same place.

See contracting & transactions

Connects the sale to verified product.

Shipments carry fish with Raw Material IDs that trace back to the fishing trip, the reefer carrier or containers behind them, so what you’re selling is linked to a documented supply chain.

See traceability & chain of custody

Tracks consignments through to delivery.

Reefer carriers and container shipments are followed from at sea or port loading with AIS, so you can answer a buyer’s question about where their fish is based on registered data.

See traceability & chain of custody

Checks a consignment before it’s filed.

Proof points and requirements of your buyer are checked while the fish is being loaded, so a gap surfaces early instead of at customs at the arrival port.

Different buyers, different requirements

One customer needs documentation you’ve never been asked for before. A private-label retail program carries obligations a raw-material sale to a brand doesn’t. A new market brings a new set of forms.

Handling that from memory and email doesn’t scale past a certain volume. Attaching claim requirements to each transaction does: the evidence that particular deal needs is listed against it, with the responsible party named, so nothing depends on someone remembering what this buyer wanted last time.

Documentation that keeps up with the deal

Trading is fast; documentation usually isn’t. That lag has real costs — shipments held, payments delayed, a buyer’s compliance team blocking a release while a certificate is chased.

When the evidence is captured upstream and linked to the batch as it moves, it’s already there when the transaction needs it. You’re retrieving documentation rather than requesting it, which is the difference between a deal that closes on schedule and one that waits.

Commercial advantage

Being the easy supplier to buy from

Your buyers are screening their supply base harder than they used to, and the traders who make that easy will keep the business.

A counterparty whose shipments arrive with verified origin and evidence attached is straightforward to onboard and to defend internally. One whose paperwork has to be chased is a risk their compliance team will not want to take. In a market where product is broadly comparable, having proof is a way to compete.

Confidentiality

Share proof without sharing your book

Your buying price and margins are your business. Passing evidence to a buyer should not reveal either.

You decide what each counterparty sees — the proof relevant to their transaction, without the commercial details behind it. Proof travels; your book doesn’t.
