Products / Contracting & Transactions
A transaction is where commercial terms and compliance obligations meet, and in most operations they live in different systems entirely. SmarTuna keeps them together: what was sold, to whom, on what terms, shipped in which containers, and the verified evidence behind every claim attached to it.
The problem
The order lives in an ERP or a spreadsheet. The certificates live in an inbox. The shipments live with the forwarder. The proof of what was actually claimed on that product lives somewhere else again.
Nothing is wrong with any one of them. The problem is that there's no single place to answer the question — so it gets reconstructed, deal by deal, usually under time pressure.
The record
Buyer and seller, transaction numbers on both sides, date, country of origin.
Product, specification, brand and label, packaging, quantities and how it’s to be shipped.
Departure location, delivery terms and incoterms, timing.
Every consignment against that order — origin, destination, ETD and ETA, and current status through to delivery.
Each claim required for that transaction, its document requirement, and who the evidence is for.
One record answers both the commercial question and the compliance one.
A retailer in one market wants documentation another doesn't ask for, and a branded program may carry obligations a commodity sale doesn't.
Attaching proof points to the transaction handles that directly — what's satisfied is visible, what's outstanding is visible, and neither has to be worked out from memory when the shipment is already moving.
Fulfillment
Orders become shipments, shipments travel in containers, and both stay connected to the transaction they belong to.
How much of an order has shipped, where each consignment is, whether it's afloat or delivered, and how actual dates compare with planned ones.
Connected to the product
The shipments on a transaction carry products with Digital Product Passports and Raw Material IDs, which trace back to the trip and source that produced them.
A commercial record isn't an abstraction. It connects to real, verified product — back to the vessel or farm it came from.
